Optimised Beneteau 40.7 Best Scoring Boat in Class 1 of the Brewin Dolphin Commodores’ Cup 2016

After a week long battle on the UK’s South Coast amongst eight international teams comprised of 24 boats, the French came out on top for the Brewin Dolphin Commodores’ Cup 2016 with 160 points. More impressively though was an overall win in Class 1 for the IRC optimised Beneteau 40.7 “Pen Koent” which posted a number of podium results during the week. “Pen Koent” has a carbon rig, a decent set of sails and a competent crew, as well as a number of other optimised features onboard, all helping her to come out on top in a range of wind conditions from just 8 knots up to 30, suggesting that the Beneteau 40.7 could still have IRC winning potential if optimised with care and expertise!
